The Lord is my (protector, leader, guide, teacher, father)
I have everything I need.
He’s making me lie down, but it’s in a green pasture.
He guides me into stillness so he can restore my soul
and renew my strength.
He takes my hand to guide me onto the path of freedom,
for his Glory is seen when our relationship is right.
Even when I walk through those places where I’d rather die than overcome,
Your perfect love casts out my fear. You’re right there with me. You haven’t abandoned me.
Discipline hurts, but is a comfort to me, because I know You only discipline those You deeply love.
Even though the world seems to be crashing down all around me,
I am feasting on the secrets You have shared with me.
(I am untouched because what I see, is not what you showed me will be.)
You pour your characteristics upon my head, which sets me apart.
It fills my cup, and in turn, overflows effortlessly upon those around me.
I am secure in this:
You are love. You are goodness.

We had an impromptu family gathering the other day. Sarah and Victor stopped by and then Luke and Kat called b/c they were in the area too, we let the kids play in the kiddie pool while us Bros and sis’s hung on the back porch. It was a moment I had to shoot.

Easter Eggs with Vivia

So, I have Saint Peter’s Preschool to thank for officially telling Vivia about the Easter Bunny that is supposed to come and visit your house and leave you candy etc etc…

I guess I knew someone would tell her eventually, but what she needs like a hole in the head, is more candy. And I wasn’t sure how we were going to do Easter as a family yet. Gabe had never heard of the Easter Bunny, and I kindof want to boycott it. Not b/c there’s anything wrong with bunnies, or Easter, but I think that focusing on bunnies and eggs takes the focus off what this holiday is really about.

However, I think that, like Christmas, we can still teach them “the reason for the season” because explaining a horrific act of torture to the kindest, most amazing man that ever lived to a FOUR YEAR OLD is a bit much.

So, until then, it’s Veggie Tales Easter Carol, and Easter Baskets, it is.

I’m still here…

Well, after a 9 month or so hiatus, I am back. I finally have a little bit of time on my hands to begin blogging again. The world is such a different place already in these short months.
